"Greenfolders has helped us transition to a paperless workflow, while maintaining our current processes. The transition was painless and rewarding."

— Clint McTomick, Partner, Watkins Law Firm

"It's truly amazing. We honestly haven't created a paper file in a year, and we're seeing monthly savings of over $10,000 in paper and copy costs alone. The processes stayed pretty much the same; it's just the medium that changed."

— Scott Halverson, Partner, Integrated Title Services

"Most programs require you to change the way you do business to conform to the program. Greenfolders is the only program that I have found that is 100% configurable to the way I do business. Since I have implemented Greenfolders, I never have to look for a missing file, I have reduced my paper consumption by 90% and my actual cost per file dropped by 30%."

— Brett Matsuura, Principal Broker, Liberty One Real Estate

"The most exciting benefit is that it has made my real estate brokerage more efficient; what used to take a full time staff of five now only takes three. Thanks, Greenfolders!"

— Brett Matsuura, Principal Broker, Liberty One Real Estate

GreenFolders Support FAQ's

Q - I just upgraded to Greenfolders 2.5, where did all my Folder Tabs go?

A:  New in Greenfolders 2.5 we allow you to customize the Folder Tabs you are used to seeing.  They can be found under the Advanced Search button.  We now give you the ability to show these tabs, as well as customize the results you see within each tab.

Q - How can I log into GreenFolders for the first time, what is the default login user name and password

A:  When first installed GreenFolders will allow you to login as the administrator using the login name of "Admin" and a password of "Admin"

Q - My user is locked out, how do I reset the user to log back in?

A:  To reset them, you will need to login as the Admin user through the Greenfolders Configuration menu.  In the Configuration menu, click on Users, and you should see that next to the user's name that is locked out, it will say "Locked Out".  If you double click the user name, there should be a button in the top of the window next to the User Name that says "Unlock User", click the button and now the user should be able to log in again.  If you forgot that user's password, you can also click on reset password here to change the password.

Q:  I am not receiving any emails to notify me that a folder has been assigned to me...WHY?

A:  You must first configure an SMTP server that GreenFolders can use to send emails. If you are unsure of your SMTP server settings contact your network administrator. Also note that some SMTP server will block messages received from GreenFolders because they are not set up to allow relay, make sure that your SMTP server will relay the messages received from the GreenFolders server

Q:  How Do I Get GreenFolders To Notify Me With Text Messages?

A:  The text messaging service through GreenFolders uses the Email Server to send the text messages.  First you have to set up the email server through GreenFolders (inside the configuration screen - click on settings).  Then, you can add in a phone number and service provider under your USER settings in Configuration.
Once you have those two things configured, you can select which notifications you would like to receive in the My Settings button (in the main menu) under the Notification Tab.

Q:  How do I change the order of my custom annotations?

A:  Simply drag the custom annotations around in the list on the custom annotations configuration screen. The order they are here will be the order they are in your tool bar.

Q:  How do I make an annotation with resizable text?

A:  You must use the "Stamp" annotation tool. On the custom annotation configuration screen it is the tool that has a stamp icon. Custom annotations of this type will have resizable text.

Q:  How do I change an attachments type?

A:  There are two ways.
1. Make sure the folder is in edit mode and drag the attachment to the group of the type you want it to be.
2. Select the attachment and click the "Edit" button above the attachment viewer. This will allow you to change the properties of the attachment directly.

Q: What do I need to backup on my Greenfolders Server to prevent data loss?

A:  We allow each customer to fine tune how they would like to backup their Greenfolders data.  There are basically 2 things that you need to make sure are backed up:
1.  All Greenfolders databases (default path is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\DATA depending on which version of SQL Server)
2.  All Greenfolders file storage locations, (default path is C:\Program Files\GreenFolders Server\DefaultFileStore)
You are able to modify both of these locations through the Greenfolders Configuration menu.

Q:  How much storage space does the Greenfolders Server need?

A:  That question is a hard one to answer, because it depends greatly on what types of files are stored in Greenfolders, and how many files are attached to each folder. We have found that a good place to start estimating how much storage space is required, would be to consider each attachment you add into your folders would be 500kb or .5mb.  Based on this simple estimate you can use the following math to help
-----------------------------------------------
100 folders created
10 attachments per folder
.5 mb per attachment
=
500 mb of total storage, or 1/2 a gb

------------------------------------------------------

Again, the numbers above are just to estimate the storage required, these numbers can change based on the size and number of attachments stored in each folder.
